Xenon headlights L322 2004 mod

Hello.

I have a L322 2004 mod with xenon headlights.
Had my Car for an EU-controll(believe you call it an MOT), where the mechanic told me that the headlights didn’t give enough lumen(light). I’ve newly change the bulbs, so I don’t believe these to be the problem. Anyone that have had these kind of problems? And please do come with tips and tricks;-)

Best regards

Svennis from Norway

Multi tester and test power out put on wiring. Could be you've got a break in the wiring that's reducing the power so to speak.

Get a power probe and light the light up with out car power and see if there's any light improvement

What bulbs did you fit? Did you go for a like for like replacement? Or did you try a more blue looking route?

I went for sone bulbs with «more» light I believe they should have a more daylight look and believe it was called D2S 5000k.

In that case do you have the original bulbs still? Maybe refit them and have it re-tested?

Some of these "new style" bulbs off eBay trick the eye into thinking theres more light because of a colour difference when actually they give out less light on a meter than standard bulbs! Thumbs Up

Totally agreed. That daylight look is terrible for effectiveness. Even worse on these wet dark evenings. Sure the eye and mind gets tricked into thinking it’s good but it isn’t really. A warmer light bulb; around 4300K will provide much better results.
