touch the wheel after the long journey and see if the wheel is hot..it could be a sticking caliper.. ... - .- -.

Yes, I’ve had it on mine too. I did check all the calipers straight away and they were all cool. I’ve had the same thing on at least one of my late D4’s. It never seems to have caused a problem.

Or a leaking engine oil cooler? They leek onto the exhaust and STINK!!! Worth a check |

Leaky oil cooler was my first thoughts...get underneath and see if any oil on rear edge of engine under tray first. Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

Ok so after further investigation, I have a very small leak from the oil cooler gasket 😖 (as you predicted.) currently ordering the recommended seals / gaskets as per other the other threads on the subject.
