Upper tailgate struts.

Anybody have any good advice on which brand upper tailgate struts to buy? I've tried a Britpart one on the lower tailgate and it was worse than the original!

I used SGS for boot struts on my TVR, seemed good quality for the price.

And would any of those alternatives reduce the glass from slamming shut?

Thanks!

I would have thought so, I would give them a call so you could talk it through if your concerned.

I bought genuine LR top struts a year ago, they have already rusted. Still work ok.

Dexion

Lower tailgate can be retro fitted with a strut to damp the opening in addition to the cables. IIRC they may be standard from a certain date. (On the offside) Cheers

Thanks for your replies. Land rover ones are about £30 each but I just wonder who make them. I've found some Monroe ones for a third of that price and at least I recognise the name. Members on here mention about poor quality after market brands from the far east and I've been disappointed with Britpart as well.
