Fitting a roof box on a 2011 L322

Hi all, If I buy genuine Land Rover roof bars (the ones that go across the roof of the car, that the box clamps onto) do I have to fit roof rails as well, or do they just slot into the recesses in the roof? Rolling Eyes

Be careful there are 2 types - Those that slot into the recesses in the roof; and those that fit into the roof rails running front to back on roof.

They have different feet so make sure you have the right type.

will try and find the part numbers if I can.

Dolphinboy is right - you can get roof rails where the bars can be moved around but the rails are permanently attached to the vehicle (fitting the rails requires breaking off the little plastic flaps that cover the mounting points) - like below

Or you can get 'Sports bars' which can be fitted and removed as required and do not require breaking off the little plastic flaps - they are similar to below (I couldn't find a 2011 equivalent)

I used the removable sports bars and an Exodus (Halfords brand I think) roof box
The roof box had U shaped bolts which simply hooked under the sports bars - worked perfectly for me Thumbs Up 2007 Zermatt Silver TDV8 Vogue SE - now sold but was a great car!

England

You dont actually have to break off the little plastic flaps they can be easily removed and stored to be fitted later. Those muppets at powerful UK did a video showing how to fit there roof bars and stated the clips had to be cut/broken off. They do not.

My roof box fitted with powerfull UK runners and cross rails and to be honest their pretty poor quality much on par with the cheapies on the bay.
