New owner questions.

Hi Folks.
I took delivery of my 16 plate FF yesterday and love it. I have upgraded from an 09 L322 which I had 7 years.
I do however have a few questions.
1. The heated seat seems to be nowhere as warm as the L322 and it’s hardly if at all noticeable it’s on at all ? Is this normal in a 405 ?
2. The footwell doesn’t seem to get very warm either ?
3. Is there any way to set front wipers to intermittent? The Auto seems to be on all the time for drizzle and I find this annoying. The rear wiper has intermittent so I’m sure it will have on the front but I just can’t find it.
Thanks in advance Thumbs Up

1. Seats are heated/cooled with air, there are 3 steps, at least on mine. It's true that compared to the L322 it seems less noticeable, but on the 3rd level, they toast!

2. Air dispersion is a little different, you should try setting the blower from auto to footwell and see if it makes a difference.

3. Check the following image from the 2016 manual (it's position 3, I believe):

Thanks Adara.
My seats even on 3 are not warm so looks like there’s a problem there.
I have tried setting to footwell but will try again later.
Thanks for the help with the diagram, it seems it’s a new owner error which
Is what I suspected.
Thanks again it’s much appreciated Thumbs Up

If you have auto wipers you don't have intermittant. My wipers are always set to Auto and only come on when it detects rain and I usually have to adjust the sensitivity with the middle collar on the stalk to get it right in light drizzle.

I find the auto wipers is a really good no fuss feature though so I would suggest that something not right with the sensor. The sensor comprises of a gel between it and the windscreen - any air bubbles in the gel will be detected by the system as rain so would trigger regular wiping, or even a mark or insect remains on the screen in front of the sensor would also make the wipers behave differently to how you would expect. Current Fleet:-

Actually there are 2 intermittent speeds, even with auto, at least there are on mine (as there were on the L322 too)...

Thanks folks.
I was mistaking the sensor control as the intermittent control for the rear wiper which I thought was odd to have so many settings on a rear wiper. Smile All sorted now apart
from the heated seat. I will contact the dealer on Monday.
It’s a totally different drive to the L322 and I wasn’t sure at 1st but it’s
growing on me. I loved my L322 and will miss it but I’m sure this will be just as
good once I get used to it.

Because of the new technology used to cool & heat the seats they take a while wo come up to full temperature , but when they get there you will need fire proof underwear !

OK to add to this, I was expecting the heated seats to work similar to my Wife's Freelander 2 where they become warm very quickly. Yesterday, I left the heated seats on and, when the car started to warm up, so did the seats. Yes, they do get nice and warm. Trouble is the back heats up very quickly, before the seat base has got warm, and it gets too hot. For some reason or other I can't seem to select only the seat base on my display. I have seat back and seat base or just seat back.
Still very new to this car so will keep finding things out as I go along.

Ah yes, you mean the lo and high speed continuous wipe in the next two positions up? Agreed but I think of intermittant as the setting which wipes once at a regular 5/10/20 second interval - as thats the setting that is replaced on cars with Auto Wipers Current Fleet:-
