Back on my older D4 I found it useful to close the upper tailgate & stand on the lower tailgate.
Both were manually operated - no electronics - no soft close.
Missed this ability on my D5 - couldn't close the upper tailgate leaving the inner lower 'plank' down - besides the plank was a little small for standing!

Now with the Fatty - if I press the upper tailgate close button, the lower closes first, then the upper - all automatically.
All electronic with soft close etc.

If I leave the lower tailgate down & force the upper to close by hand - does this up the auto-close & or affect the opening calibration height?

Don't really want to try it & find I mess something up -
But its a feature I really found useful - think it was a throw back to the very first classics?

Just pull it down by hand. When you're finished standing open normally using the key then all is back as it was. On mine the heights stayed the same. Geoff
