So last week, I visited Jim4244 and collected the wheels he had for sale....

They got fitted the following day and the Style 14 wheels that graced my car have gone to TRS in Milton Keynes to have a couple of small flat spots removed, and a cosmetic freshen up.... they must have had a refurb at some point previously as the diamond cut sections of the wheels had already been painted...

I'm not a particular fan of diamond cut wheels, so have opted to retain the silver painted finish, especially as, in the case of these wheels, there is little need for the diamond cut finish as this is usually to provide a contrast to darker paint.

The temporary wheels do look really good on the car I have to say....

That’s the style of wheels I put on my 2011 4.4. I think they look great. A lot easier to keep clean then the originals.

Another vote for the temporary wheels.

Your originals were one of my favourite L322 wheels - but those L405 ones do seem well suited to the L322 - I don't actually like them on the L405 but do on the L322. Depends on whether you're a purist or not.....

Great looking car. The style 14 wheels in your first picture are spot on - my number 1 choice for a l322 if I could find any. In the process of getting style 17s on mine

The newer wheels do definitely suit the 322 it's fair to say.... but I still do prefer the Style 14's - not a purist as such (we also own a quite rare VW Splitscreen Bus that's been lowered, caged, sits on Compomotive MO 5 Spokes and has a 2366cc motor) but I do like to try and keep things 'period' correct on my other vehicles.

The car was in the garage because the fuel pump timing chain slipped which caused a misfire and 'reduced performance' and whilst diagnosing/fixing that issue, it became apparent that although the engine timing chains had been replaced as per the service record... it's fair to say they had not been done well along with a catalogue of other horrors under the bonnet....

It was a painful bill it's fair to say, but it could have been a lot worse... and we came into Range Rover ownership with open eyes and an expectation of running costs... and so far, we're not much over our 'budget' for fixing the niggles, and now we have peace of mind that the chains have been done by someone we trust.

It's fair to say I've not driven an L322 with any other engine, but I genuinely LOVE the 5.0. So effortless... and rapid too... we average 22mpg too which is better than our old VW T5 Caravelle that had the 3.2 V6 Petrol motor...

Blimey... I bought bits for my 2-door classic from Mark Smith... it was an ex-Police armed response vehicle and had more holes in the trim than a Swiss cheese! Mark walked me around his stock of broken bits and we picked out all the elements that he thought I would need...

If he can’t help with any ongoing servicing etc, or you need an alternative, I would wholeheartedly recommend Loughran’s Of Towcester (on the Old Tiffield Road, opposite Tesco) - I’ve used them for (ahem...) nearly 30 years and cannot fault their service.

Don't think Mark is involved these days, Martin took over a few years ago when Mark retired....

they used to look after my old 200TDi Disco nigh on 20 years ago now... so was always going to take the Range Rover there once we bought one.
