Rumble from front offside at 70-85mph - driveshaft issue

I just thought I would share the issue I had with my FF. For some time I noticed there was a rumbling from the front offside corner when accelerating at between 70-85mph. I had the wheels balanced, checked the pressures and looked underneath to see if there was anything obvious but to no avail. @2 weeks ago the rumble became much worse. It was loud and it could be felt through the steering even at slow speeds especially when going over bumps or pot holes.

I did no more than take it to my local independent who, after inspection diagnosed a damaged offside front drive shaft. There seemed to be no reason behind this - both CV boots in place and full of grease - but 2 days later a new drive shaft fitted had cured all the problems. Thank goodness for my warranty!
