i am asking this question for anyone who has Nexen Nfera's on there FFRR 255/50/20 and what there experience has been?
i have used them before and been very happy with there performance, but not used then on a heavy SUV.

Porsche seem to think they are good enough as OE for the Macan so wondered if anyone has them fitted to there RR

On our 2011 the rears have nexen these were on when we purchased it a few months back and while the tread is good in between them is cracking badly and will be getting replaced with a pair of scorpions.
Looking on the date code for manufacture of the nexen tyres they were made in 2019 so very poor

t5pete i had this on a set the fronts did exactly the same (I had proof of purchase) they were 1 year old lots of tred left. i contacted Nexen directly with photos and proof of purchase and they organized free replacement for me.
Only did this on the fronts i had x4 fitted at the same time rears were fine.

have not tried Nfera but a few years ago the Nexen Roadion was a popular choice.
I tried them as they were so well regarded. I swapped them for a more traditional Pirelli Scorpion because of the sidewall flex issues. they were so soft the deformation even mounting a kerb meant you risked your rim.
apart from that they were good tyres

I have the Rodians on the front at the moment had to fiddle with TP but they seem ok. The rears are my issue x2 different brands and wear level so they are going.
i think i will go for the Nfera's as i have had nothing but good experience with them in the past. will have them fitted to the front though put the others on the rear.

combined with the fact they are Porsche OE on x2 of there SUV's and at £128 each fitted seem a good deal for me

If they make a difference will probably ditch the rears for them too.

The reviews by magazines who do tyre tests don't read great for this tyre. Also unless you put on the Porsche tyre you won't be getting the Porsche tyre What I mean is that there are huge difference between tyres not only when having a different size but also when having the different OEM marking on them.

Most recent direct experience with that was on our AMG with 21" factory wheels; MO Continental tyres were terrible, shredded after 4,000 miles, skipper and hopped when cornering. I had three sets of them paid for by Mercedes until they switched them to the * version, BMW in case you didn't know. A totally different experience...The tyres actually worked.

But ahem, what are you doing having different brands of tyres on your FFRR

Objective test reviews are really the only way to choose if you’re interested in how tyres perform (and even then, there are huge variables) - most subjective user reviews are worse than useless.

Agreed. And even then, tyres can perform very different in different sizes hence those tests by reputable organisations like ADAC will include the sizes tested.

Bl4ckD0g having x2 different brand on the same axle is not good in my world which is why they have gone!!
i agree with what you are saying but the fact still remained they were chosen as OEM for Porsche not the exact same size but similar and for a luxury and heavy 4x4. Same trad pattern & same compound.

I have now purchased them and had them fitted and early signs are very good quiet, good grip and very stable at speed + give confidence on the country roads i have to traverse daily.

have x2 more on order now as they are noticeably quieter that the Nexen Rhodians which were on the front (I had them put on the rear).

I had another set of wheels that had Pirelli's on and i am not sure why people insist they are best for this car, i found them noisy, i can say i did not see any advantage to them at all. i have since sold them. 2012 Vogue 4.4 TDV8 - Current

My old L322 has a new set of OE Scorpion Zeros and they certainly aren’t noisy.

I’m sorry but that is simply not correct. A Porsche OEM spec does not respresent the same as the none Porsche spec. There are differences hence the markings.

Further more, just because a tyre is good on a Macan doesn’t mean it behaves the same on a FFRR. I think you read way to much into some Porsche having them as oem for small wheels.

so i am just posting an update of my findings so far with the Nfera's now i have all 4 wheels shod in the same summer tyre from Nexen. I will add i am no tyre expert and do not profess to be and i have no scientific way to say they give me the same stopping grip this is based on my personal experience so far nothing more.

1) my car is not a death trap!! not really surprised i live in rural England and i have had them before just not on such a heavy car.
2) dry road grip is good i can take a spirited drive on the country roads and the car feels well balanced and sure footed
3) wet roads, we have had lots of rain it has been pretty cold <5C and again car is sure footed on the country roads not jumping or giving me a nervos feelin that they might let go even in off camber corners and muddy surfaces.
4) Braking (In the wet) was going to collect kids up from school and Pheasant ran out so i hit the brakes hard, the car came to a stop very sharply and i was surprised as the ABS did not cut in the car just stopped i guess i was nipping along at around 50-55 MPH at the time. the car remained true and straight.
5) road noise they are very quiet on all types of road surface, especially noticeable on modern ash felt they are laying on new sections of road cannot comment on concreate section not been on any and all tyres seem noisy on there.
6) Comfort seems nice ride is smooth and not harsh in any way though it was not before, can be a bit bumpy on rough surfaces but i think this is to be expected.

that is all i can comment on for now overall i am very happy with them. I cover about 3-500 miles per week over a mix of roads including motorway. 2012 Vogue 4.4 TDV8 - Current
