i think i read somewhere that the homelink is old tech and wont operate the newer garage doors/gates etc.. ... - .- -.

the newer doors and gates use a 'rolling code' system which i believe homelink cant cope with.. ... - .- -.

Yes you can get Homelink to work.

I have the home link on my gates and garage doors, you need the Homelink control module that needs to sit inline with the remote receiver, depends what gate units you have as to the rolling code configuration. Its not an easy one to solve.

Had the same question from the chap next door. Stan is exactly right. We have Came gates and due to the rolling code can’t be programmed. A solution is to fit a homelink recieved module, but this is a work around and kind of reduces the security levels given by the rolling code.....
