Throttle pedal is effectively a switch , had to replace mine on a earlier one, my foot slipped on the pedal as it was snowy and I broke the pedal assembly, the pedal had come off and i was left with the plastic tube dangling out. It's a simple plug & play unit. Have a look and see if theres breakeage on th throttle. Just bolts in with a serial plug if memory seves correct.

There are plastic cogs in the throttle body that can strip their teeth. I think a couple of members have had to change theirs. |

Thanks - the throttle body could be it. I'll post how I get on. The car is away with the mechanic now.
