Just for fun it would be interesting to work out how long the original air suspension lasts....

For those who answer, can you please also comment with year and miles?

So for those who are still on original suspensions please just write model year and how many miles you have now.

For those who have changed, please write model year and in which year and approx miles you changed.

2004 4.4 V8 petrol with 189,000 - still original and working!!

Rears were still going strong after 185K miles (on my '02 HSE)

Front right (or is that "font" right.. ) went bang @ 100K (iirc), replaced both sides with full struts, Delphi.

Forget when, @ 2009 ? .

2004, 92k miles, just changed both front struts as offside one developed a leak.

2007 54k miles 4.2 Supercharged still on originals

2012, 130,000, front right failed taking out the compressor too. BMW i3 Electric Car

Assuming you're referring to the air-springs rather than any part of the suspension then both my front air-springs were replaced at approx 51K miles due to many holes assumed to have been caused by grit still present from having travelled (paddled) though very deep gritty mud twice daily for a few weeks a year or so previously.

2008 HSE, almost 200,000kms. Changed both front struts/airbags as a precaution after noticing some nicks in the lefthand airbag. Job started out as a brake job, new pads and rotors. Noticed a split rubber gator on the lefthand driveshaft cv so replaced that and then had to do the righthand side as well after putting a small cut in that while doing the strut! Most expensive brake job I've ever done!!!

2011, 145k, all original other than n/s front. Previous owner replaced at about 140k miles 1995 4.6 v8, green/tan (long gone)
