Hello everybody

I have the dreaded steering wheel wobble/heavy vibration at 50 to 70mph

Wheels balanced twice and new disks /pads but no joy.

I have done 114k and use Dunlop ST8000 tyres.

Any ideas/solutions

if you have tried all the obvious remedies then does this happen more so when you accelerate hard to these speeds if so it could be the servotronic valve which regulates the fluid to the steering box ..at 55 mph there is a significant dampening of the box... ... - .- -.

Is this servotronic valve obtainable and replacable fairly easily or does it mean a new steering rack?

if your problem is the servotronic valve and the only way to find out is a process of elimination ,then its approx £50 from a dealer and very easy to do.. ... - .- -.

You say you had the wheels balanced twice...

What did they find when they balanced them the second time? Did they say they were out of balance?

I had a mare of a time with my last RR but one day went to a different garage for balancing and the guy said the wheels were way off balance and the previous guys had used far too many weights etc and basically didn't know what they were doing. After he balanced my wheels they were absolutely fine.

Have you swapped the wheels front to back & left to right? This must be done at every service to ensure correct wear & to keep the balance.

Also, I noticed that my whole front end sharpened up when I had my front anti-roll bar links replaced. Cost me under £50 inc parts and labour so may be worth a punt - anything loose at the front will cause probs.
