I just bought a 4.4 Diesel to replace my 5.0L S/C, its fine for my needs. I got fed up with visiting Tesco's for more fuel - it wasn't the cost (I don't think cost should enter your head if you buy a RR) it was the inconvenience. I guess if I buy new from 2035 onwards it'll have to be electric, electric only mind you not hybrid. In the meantime as mine is only Euro5 I'll not be able to visit inner cities - that won't be inconvenient as I cant remember the last time I visited any city in my RR, I've used the odd park and ride as well as the train but never driven.

There’s a trend away from diesel in light of the focus on emissions, public fears re Dieselgate etc. Diesel cars are not about to disappear, or be forcibly scrapped, en masse.
