My experience is that it shuts off at around 40% or below of battery charge. |

I might have to risk the £200 and get them to look at it properly. L405SC just arrived... still working everything out! |

Is your AC functioning well? I found my start stop didn’t work properly until it was recharged and could get the cabin temps to whatever level was set. Try switching the AC off and see if it starts working. |

So the (non chargeable) diagnosis is ... battery.

Before you do that, do you have a battery charger? Our D4's stop start only works when ive charged the car well! So, i put ours on a ctek and when its fully charged voila! Stop Start works again! |

My FF will be 5 years old in November, I am delighted that the stop/start no longer works but is it a sign of the batteries getting old. letters not necessarily in the right order |

Estimated cold cranking voltage at current state of charge" is 5.06v if that is the case your battery is shot and 5.06 volts will not start anything . In most modern cars such a low cranking voltage will trigger lots of spurious error codes as well . New battery time . |

Been advised that if you’re battery is on the road out or is in need of a charge it can prevent things like stop start working. Have seen evidence of that too on a BMW. You don’t need to use it anyway? Not a fan of stop/ start. Don’t use it on any of our cars. There’s a button to switch it off in the car. |

If you’re battery is weak the stop start will not work, happened to mine back in February. I fitted a new one, but you do have to reset the BMS (battery monitor system) before stop / start will work again. Most good diagnostic tools will do this, my Autel md806 did so I would have thought the gap tool will too. |

Totally agree with you there Mark it is annoying, but it’s a double edged sword for me, when does work it annoys me keep disabling it and when it didn’t work it annoyed me because it should. |
