Bought the 2008 Overfinch TDV8 yesterday. Quoted £665 inc vat for egr delete with blanking plates. Is that a fair price? Thanks in advance. |

Seems expensive to me. Why not buy the kit and do it yourself? John

I can buy the blanking plates for £35 and the local garage charged me £100 to fit them last time. What’s the average price for the egr delete part? Thanks |

If you have an IID you can get an EGR delete patch from BAS for about £200. Otherwise I think I was being quoted about £250 to map it out. I did it myself in the end with the BAS patch. 2016 Skoda Octavia VRS Estate

Is it absolutely necessary to have the egr valves deleted? I’ve read and there’s some videos on YouTube that seem to suggest that by fitting blanking plates the egr valves continue to function but the risk of them breaking up and causing catastrophic damage is removed? |

I think some have physically blanked with no side effects. For others it has resulted in a MIL warning light. Based on my experience with a D3 I just decided to software delete as well as blank to avoid any doubt. 2016 Skoda Octavia VRS Estate
