do people really think that the scheduled 5p increase was really going to take place...it was a 'pretend' amount that they could give back to us and make themselves look sooooo generous... ... ... - .- -.

Agree and remember oil prices are not set by the government they just tax the market price and that tax is high because of the previous LABOUR Governments stealth tax policy not the current government that is at least trying to help even with the deficit left by the prior bunch of C**ts. People would moan if they did nothing and moan even when effectively reducing ongoing cost by 6p a litre. Get a grip on reality and be thankful the stealth taxes are over. ![]() |

totally agree Gary ![]() not forgetting that there are a lot from the green lobby who want to see massively increased fuel duty to get people off the roads or to buy 'electric' cars |

also the green lobby wanted to see a reduction in diesel levy/tax ONLY as these one could argue directly affect food prices/public transport/materials/goods costs etc etc |

THEY HAVE NOT REDUCED the cost of fuel by 6p because we have had not started paying that increase yet. How can you save the 6p that you have not paid out yet!!!! This type of comment really annoys me! Typical tory crap!! they think they are helping you out but they haven't really done anything apart from the 1p reduction and cancelling the 6p increase which will more than likely be added to the cost of fuel over the next few days/weeks anyway as oil goes through the roof because of the oil and gas company tax now introduced. They should have introduced a fixed price for petrol around the £1 per litre mark which does not go up or down even when the price of oil drops |

Who said reduced???? I said "effectively reducing ongoing cost by 6p a litre"
The fact is fuel was going to go up by 6p now it is not so thats an "Effective" saving to your "Ongoing" costs mate. Its that kind of comment and thinking that got in this mess in the first place. Print & spend eh..... ![]() |

How would that work then? So lets say the Saudi royal family suddenly decide theyre going to charge £1.10 a litre, who will pay the extra 10p? We could borrow it from a hillbilly American bank? ![]() 2018 P400e Autobiography 2008 TDV8 Vogue 2006 TD6 Vogue 2007 TDV8 Vogue 2007 RRS (I know, it doesn't count!) 2005 4.4 Vogue on LPG 2005 TD6 Vogue 2003 4.4 Vogue 2001 4.6 HSE 2000 2.5 DHSE 1999 4.6 HSE 1997 4.6 HSE on LPG 1995 2.5 DSE 1989 3.9 EFI classic 1988 3.5 EFI classic |

Yes he has stopped the rise this april but you clearly didn't listen to the budget as the chancellor has only postponed the inflation rise until Jan next year then yet another rise in the summer of next year so instead of having one rise this year and one next year we will have TWO in the same year so really he hasn't stopped a rise in duty only postponed it for 9 months then another rise 6 months later. |

i completely agree about the problems labour caused, don't get me wrong we need to sort this mess out but keep hitting families with higher taxes, higher food and fuel prices is not the way to sort this problem out. People can only be squeezed so far before something breaks and instead of the country going bust decent hard working people will be the ones to go bust. For example if you look at the students problem why should students that want to work hard to try and further their knowledge and education so they can get good jobs in the future be punished with massive debts. I work in a large secondary school in the north west and over the last few months we have been giving the students the new guidelines on uni and the costs involved and in a survey carried out months before the uni tuition issue was raised we had 68% of our students that wanted to progress on to uni then in a survey carried out 2 weeks ago after students we given the new info from the government on uni fees we only have 44% of students considering going because they do not want to get in to such debt and we are taking about over £40,000+ of debt that like having to repay the cost of a house!! and has anyone thought how these students will be able to afford to pay back this loan and try to get on the property ladder?? upto £9000 per year for uni is stupid and you are only going to punish the middle class - rich kids are always going to be able to go, poorer kids will get financial help to go and as always the normal, working class person will be expected to pay the full wack.....typical!! |
