buy via ebay and pay via paypal mick, you're covered then if things go wrong ...granted the seller will get charged for the ebay listing and the paypal charge ,thats probably why he wants a bank transfer .. ... - .- -.

I'd go for Paypal, he's only trying to dodge the Paypal fee, I think you'd lose out on the buyers protection thing ebay do if you don't send the Paypal payment too. 2006 Mercedes CLS

Mick, i've seen people ripped off a million times. Bank transfer has no comeback and if he doesn't send you the items your screwed. And if you think the police will be interested then think again!

Mick - check out his history, he has positive feedback for selling the same wheels 3 times over, could be genuine, but it does seem a little suspicious.

Ignore that I'm talking out my arse, but do take a close look at his ebay activity, as it's confusing at best, although he could be genuine.

It may be genuine, but when a similar thing happened to me, I was ripped off. The downside of ebay (in my experience), is that if something doesn't feel right, there's a fair chance it isn't right. By agreeing to pay by postal order instead of paypal, neither ebay nor paypal were prepared to help me, and I paid £100 for something I never received. If I were you, I'd insist on Paypal or not proceed and report it to ebay. |

By the time you request paypal return the money if there is a problem, the seller has cleared their paypal account and run off, leaving paypal/ebay to tell you there was no money available to reclaim.

This used to be the case, however now even if they clear their acc paypal will foot the bill. I think the protection used to be £500, but now has recently increased. To echo the above, use PayPal via the eBay checkout to ensure you are 100% covered. Personally for 1K I would collect them myself! It's a lot of money... |
