So, just picked up my brand new p400e AB. Mrs 1880 took the kids to a friends house and has managed to curb the wheel. In doing so she has also cut the sidewall of the tyre. Not being by any measure expert in these things - is the tyre safe to drive, or do I need to get a replacement/fix. Bearing in mind we are due to be driving 300 miles cross country on Saturday!
Help much appreciated!

If it were me, I'd be sticking the spare on.

Indeed it has no full size spare sadly. Sounds like I will be replacing a brand new tyre on a brand new car...

Not good, Not repairable really. Off you pop to the local tyre stealer..... just don’t go putting a wangling windfarm on to save a few quids!

New tyre needed.

Mrs needs a stern talking too.....😜 id be more annoyed about the wheel.... There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I’d wager that’s fine for the time being if you can’t see any cords or ply when you open up the cut - I’ve inadvertently driven further on much worse before.

Yep - thanks all. Just booked in for a replacement to be fitted on Saturday bright and early before we head off on hols! £200 down the swannie - and that's before the wheel refurb (as you rightly point out). Will have to live with that for a bit I think. Tyre clearly needs fixing now. Wheel I will have to do later. And have scarcely driven the pride and joy yet!
Need a drink now to calm my stress levels!

the inner carcass could be damaged.. I'd replace as soon as you can..



as for the wheel, ask the tyre fitter to gently file it down.... I've done this for customers before and it dont look to bad.. ... - .- -.
