Latest one I had was S20A_20.16.5-536345.

Since that SOTA in mid May the upper screen takes about a minute to come on which is frustrating to say the least. It means no rear camera or any other info whilst I twiddle my thumbs for the bloody thing to come on!

I'll say one thing about this latest FFRR, it's really "exciting" to get into, 'cos you never know what is or isn't going to work on the screens!! Censored All LR cars from 1984

No idea. I have a horrible feeling you guys are Beta testing!

on 20A, I also have intermitted delays on upper screen but have found that if I select reverse the camera comes up immediately. Last week I had it so neither upper or lower screen would come on at all. I started driving in the hopes it would sort, but it did not. I had to do an off / lock / unlock and I was very relieved when this worked. L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso

The top screen is like the tellys of the 1950's, you need to wait for the bulb/tube to warm up! I suppose 70 years on we can't expect everything to be perfect when you only pay £100k for a car!!

Sorry for the sarcasm, but in my business when someone bought something you would make sure they got what they paid for!!

I was expecting a huge wait for the top screen to come to life, but it's ready by the time I've got in / put my phone & keys down / put the seatbelt on and if I'm just moving it on the drive, the reversing camera comes on straight away.

It sounds like I should leave the software as is it if its working! MY23 Panamera E-Hybrid

I think it has been an incredible challenge for manufacturers to pivot from designing panels, differentials, engines to designing hybrid systems, electronic security, infotainment. The only viable way for a smallish-not-especially-profitable manufacturer like JLR is to partner with a specialist in those fields.

For infotainment, Panasonic is the partner. Now, I have a Panasonic TV which runs software that is 100% reliable (90% of the time). The infotainment launched with the Velar in 2017, so must have been designed in 2016.Whilst I would not rule out minor tweaks (like the SOTA thing) in the background, 4 years is an eternity in electronics. I'd love to know if there's an aftermarket CPU upgrade or something that could help this thing.

I am about to embark on a road trip.... I think I will hold off on upgrading just in case. L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso

I was informed by a fairly high up manager at LR, that the problem was, they did the software in-house for the latest InControl rather than use one of the two companies normally used for infotainment systems. All LR cars from 1984
