Engine Oil Temp Sensor Problem - stumped..........

Hi All,

I have a DTC for 'Engine Oil Temperature Sensor Circuit Range/Performance' (P1096) on my 2007 TDV8 L322.
Diagnostic tool shows engine oil temp at -40degC (default value I presume)

I checked the resistance of the sensor in the sump - it appears to be in the correct range.
Replacing it with a brand new sensor makes no difference
I also checked the wiring diagram and continuity checked the wires from the engine controller down to the temp sensor - no problems there....

No sure what else to check, is there anything else that can cause these symptoms? Only other thing I can think of is an ECU issue, which I really hope it's not!

Cheers,

Dan
