Flange Tow Bar & Parking sensors (promise I searched fir

Hi Folks,

Hoping for a bit of help please, I'd like to fit a tow bar to my 2012 FFRR, to use a tow bar mounted cycle carrier.

I think this is the unit I want:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Towbar-Land-Rov...50f06#rwid

because it's a) better value than the Westphalia(?) and b) that flange looks much sturdier than the Westphalia box section from a squeeks and rattles perspective (?)

so question: Will the above towbar (made by PCT Automotive and sold by PF Jones) interfeer with the parking sensors *When the tow hitch ball is removed*?

And: does anyone have this rig/is it any good?

Thanks in advance.

I don't think it will cause you any parking sensor issues.

I have this available and I'm close to you if you'd like to give it a go !

Looks the same as the one I got for my 2005 FFRR - also from PF Jones. Didn't affect the parking sensors even with the tow ball fitted.

Looks solid.

BUT

Be aware it says the electrics which come with it are only the universal Ones. Not the dedicated plug and play. So you will need to wire in a bypass with that, a fair bit more involved than the plug and play.

Someone recently installed a polish branded tow bar. Which was also a fair bit cheaper than the westfalia. It looked pretty decent but again the wiring was relay based...

I’ll try and find the post....

Many thanks all for the responses.

Bushy - Very kind offer, but I'm out of the area for a bit.

Stuart - just what i was hoping to hear!

Northern Monkey - good read that thread - thanks for the link, will certainly help when it comes to install time. Think i'm going to go for the flange style pf jones tow bar and buy a plug and play loom from Duckworth LR.

atb

James.

Mine (from PF Jones) came with a plug/play wiring loom. Might be worth talking to them to see what they can provide?
