If your EGRs are working OK, there should be no performance benefit - just piece of mind that if the EGRs break up, the bits won't get digested by the engine via the intake system.

Blank them with a £30 kit. Some engines throw up a fault light, some don’t.

Do these have the swirl flaps ? I've heard they can also detach and merrily continue to engine causing issues ... |

No swirl flaps on the RRs. They were on the BMWs only. John

If yours is a 3.6 then go ahead, blank off the EGR.

3.6 = blank it off with a £30 ebay kit then remap it for some more poke.

Mine has had the egrs blanked and a remap. The comment from an expert ‘... You won’t get any less smoke than that with th egrs blanked’ would have put me off if I heard it before making a decision. I’d be interested to know how smokey it is under acceleration. All the best hope it goes well. |

I've got a mobile mapper coming over at 9am he uses maps from elite remaps , I've bought the blanking plates but he says you don't necessarily need them as valves are shut off and disabled |

I'd do the blanks anyway. I'd trust a physical blanking plate over a mapped one all day long. Putting the blank plate in after the map should be OK. The ones where the the link pipe is removed and the ports blanked appear to be the "best" as they are a 100% sure way of stopping crap getting ingested
