Daughter bought a new car!

So, as many of you will remember my daughter went to Davos to work a ski season... She went to a VERY high end and earned very good money and even greater tips...She came home a month early due to Covid and has luckily been held up in the owners country estate in Hampshire cooking for the family... She has saved hard and for the past 3-4 months has been fully paid and cannot spend money when in lockdown so! She said "Dad..... I really really want a sports car and ive had my Fiat 500 4 yrs now!" So after searching hi & low for the exact spec'd MX5 Recaro Edition, in the Red she wanted! I got a call the other day saying "finally!!! Ive found one Dad, in a main agent, with a warranty & its in Mint Perfect condition having been a second/third car/summer toy..." And here it is!

And when she wasn't watching Whistle Whistle Whistle

What a lovely lovely thing... She took me for a run out in it this weekend and nowadays with the 2.0 160hp engine it actually has a little bit of go! Not like the old days of MX5's... It comes with all the nice bits you get on modern stuff like lane assist, awesome Bose audio, LED headlamps and nearly all other lamps, leather & alcantara Recaro trim, bigger 17" alloys, A piano black body styling kit (again a Recaro edition extra)

So, well done Kat, from a VERY VERY proud Dad... And all that saving and she's only 21... Bow down Thumbs Up

my daughter was 21 yesterday, and we were talking about cars again, the MX5 is high up on her list, but may I ask what the insurance is like for a sports car, she presently has a Toyota Auris 1.6 Petrol - and the insurance is only £900

That looks like a fun car for her. They are a great handling car these days and as you say full of all the toys. I am sure she will enjoy Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Guilty as ever, my son (19) has just brought himself a new Evoque HSE Dynamic Lux with Waitomo Grey pearlesent paint and pimento and jet interior with factory black pack. So although not quite a L405 but not a bad start for 19yrs. It does make you wonder what they will be driving in 10 years time (hopefully me!!)

I hope she enjoys it. Thumbs Up

She is on the hunt so will let you know when she does Thumbs Up

Obviously if she insured it on a new policy 10 days ago she would have missed her yr 4 NCB...

Is that the RF DrRob? Kat could have bought a newer standard trim one but took my advice that the Recaro Edition would hold its money well... Its a lovely spec'd car too Thumbs Up

Well done that girl Thumbs Up

Quite fancy an MX5 myself. Funnily enough I’ve never really thought of them as a woman’s car, what with the original ethos being one of a classic British roadster in the manner of an MGB.

I’ve got a couple of years before I need to get a veehickle for the boy. His 1st will not be anything flash, and have a max budget of a grand...... There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

The last time you did the proud Dad post a few days later you posted she had broken her wrist, perhaps a bit of Skid pan at Castle Combe might save another trip to A & E. letters not necessarily in the right order
