Well, I've done it!

Went to see a 62 plate 4.4 TDV8 AB today with 96k miles up for a shade under £17k.

All the toys, 360 cameras, adaptive cruise, AFS lights, heated & cooled rear reclining seats, timed climate. 2 full keys and 2 remote heating keys.

Everything (apart from the aircon) works.

The leather seats (red and black) are so soft and comfortable, no signs of water ingress, corrosion just starting on the rear arches. Booted it hard a couple of times, no smoke.

Slight oil leak and the wheels would benefit from a refurb but they're not awful.

Agreed a price with 2 years full warranty, all faults fixed (including the oil leak) and a new MOT.

Happy days!

Well done. I bet it's the oil cooler that's leaking. Easy to diagnose. Engine cover off, whip out pollen box and peer down onto bellhousing and look down and forwards to the oil cooler/filter assembly. Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

Thanks. I thought the red and black may be a bit much but it actually looks worse in the photos than it does in the flesh.

I drove a 12 plate last week and it was Ok. I drove this one and it was so much better. I have no idea why but it was more comfortable, smoother, quieter...even though it's done 20k more miles - or maybe because it's done 20k more miles!

Matching rubber all round helps a lot, and it normally is a good sign of how well the cars been cared for. Yours appears to have that from what we can see in the photos'.

Have fun with it. Enjoy. 2006 4.2 SC

Thats very nice, love the pimento and jet plus got the and reclining rear seats and front seat away. Plus all looks original which in my opinion makes it even better. love those wheels too. I would swap out those headrests and install L405 winged headrests as the only upgrade

Great choice you will be very happy

Dont forget to check all the surround cameras work and no blue screens, if you've got a warranty worth making sure as a common issues.

I checked all the cameras, they're all fine. Full set of Scorpion Verde's less than a month ago, the warranty is a comprehensive 24 month one.

I'm planning on keeping it standard....I may swap out the grills for all-black ones and the wheels will be getting a refurb, probably in the same anthracite type colour that they are now. Shadow Chrome, I believe they are. I'll have a look at what my local wheel refurber's can offer and take it from there.

Looks grand Dunc. I've been looking for a fair while now and must say I discounted that one on the interior. Good to know its better in the flesh than the photos. I just couldn't get excited about it. The rest is bloody lovely though and you are quite right to be very happy. Quite jealous!

Chap who had it before me put 4 Pirelli Scorpion Verde's on it 2 months ago then had a windfall and bought a new Merc.
