Flickering Xenon light

HI - I posted a while ago about one of my lights flickering and then going out. Turn off and on again and it's all sorted for a while but keeps doing it now. After your helpful advice to narrow it down today I washed the beast and decided whilst in there to swap just the bulbs over to see where the problem was.

Sure enough the other light now flickers. I hope I can assume then it's the bulb that needs replacing.

Any one got any suggestions for replacement xenon bulb. Are dealers the best option.? (are they Loads a money)
Should I replace both to ensure the same "colour"...
What temp bulb should I go for. I prefer the slightly bluer light.

any advice greatly welcome. Ash

I had the same thing on a 2007. Thankfuly it was still under warranty as the repair required the replacement of both headlamps.

I was told it was the ballast resistor that had failed/ was failing but landrover don't sell them seperately (even though they only bolt on).

You could maybe find a broken headlamp and take the resistor off it.

One of the more technical bods on here (like daveo) may well be able to offer more help/ a better solution. My Previous RR's!

Thanks Hoppy - Fairly certain it's just the bulb as the problem followed to the other side when I swapped them over.

Blimey Stan - That was quick.! Many Thanks for your offer. Should I replace both at the same time or does it not matter really? Would actually quite like the bluey tint but will let you know tomorrow if that's ok. (Aren't you selling them a bit cheap when a replacement bulb is around the £80 mark..? - Not that I want you to charge me more Whistle ) Ash

if you are changing temperatures then you change both, if you are just replacing the faulty one then just replace that one...mine are my old ones so they are used but perfectly ok... ... - .- -.
