Next time you're under the bonnet......

apologies for the upside down photo's, no matter what I do, I can't get them the right way round! Embarassed Embarassed

Next time you have the bonnet up, check just above the side vents & below the windscreen side panel, both my 'foam thingys' weren't where they should be. One was tucked down near the door hinge & t'other was back about an inch.
I take it they're just meant to stop water & general debris going in towards the door hinge area?
Someone at JLR was obviously very low on UHU glue at the time, I've seen more glue on an envelope than on the back of both these foam wedges.

And there was me ready with the hot glue gun to put them back! Smile
You don't think they're worth putting back where they should be?
The one that was half way down the door, is indeed sodden, and needs to be dried first. 2012 Orkney Grey Westminster 4.4TDV8 with Ivory interior.........nice!

I'm sure they were originally put there for a purpose, perhaps to prevent water dripping onto the hinges as you mention but it seems that they were not fitted to last long. I have one still in situ and one that is loose, so far I have left them as they are (apart from putting the loose one back in place whenever I open the bonnet). From those that have taken them off, they haven't reported any issues so I guess you either re-attach or bin them, safe in the knowledge that whatever you do will be fine. 2011 TDV8 Vogue SE
