That’s a start then. Too easy to connect the wrong plug. I taped my old connector off. I too had to use Navcoder to enable voice. Think you can force pairing mode too.

Afternoon gents, lol, hope it hasn't got any other little helpers in there!!!! hopefully it hasn't chewed anything, everything seems to be working ok......so far, annoyed at myself for plugging wrong one in that will teach me not to rush, anyway, can't see any single plug/wiring for mic, hoping its in the main loom, found a couple of plugs, one blue the other black, both only have one cable to them although both are 3 pin, so don't think they are anything to do with mic, the only cables i can see passing through the cubby box (rear to front) are not the same size or colour as the mic wiring, mic wiring to the mic itself are 2 x black (one smaller than the other) and a yellow. Hopefully when i get the other ulf fitted and plug in the Navcoder, enable voice, then see if it works, if not, back to cable tracing, I have also made inquiries for a gentleman to come to my work place to swop out the tv unit for a hybrid one, installs, sets it all up etc, i know they are plug & play, but this gentleman has refurbed the units he supplies & fits, so a bit of a guarantee with them, he only works within the west midlands, hence my arranging for it to be done at work, but still haven't had the ok to go back to work as yet, the ceo hasn't authorised the the re-employment of agency staff, although i was told a couple of weeks ago it was on the cards & was given a start date ( i work for the nhs)

Hopefully you will get it sorted. Tv really is plug and play. I did that too, with a unit from a 2007 X5. Same place I got my ULF.

Hello MJ, Do they not work very well then ? would the unit you fitted, fit in my 2003 model ? if you don't mind me asking how much was your unit? I put a a new post on a little while ago, I had a look inside the ulf module i broke to see what damage I had caused and have asked if anyone could identify the bits, I haven't a clue what they are (I'm a mechanical engineer) might be an easy fix, then again might not be, lol, just interested to see what it is

Afternoon all, Hope everyone have been keeping well & safe, been a little while but other ULF turned up last week, fitted it ok, used Navcoder to pair phone, worked a treat, enabled voice recognition, when i push steering wheel button it comes up on the dashboard, so far so good, but the problem is still with the mic, still haven't been able to locate the mic plug in centre console, think the whole lot has to come out including the cubby box, anyway, i couldn't find the plug from the rear wiring loom that should be in the centre console to which the mic plug should plug into, i had a look at the loom i bought & near the eject box plug, there is a 3 pin plug which i initially thought may be the pairing button, on looking at the wiring diagram (the one above, that MJ posted) it seems as if this is in fact the mic plug, i have now got to thread this through to the centre console.

I believe the yellow and the white wires are the ones that are suggested can be connected either way round. I tried them both ways and if I remember right, made no difference. Some have tried it and the mic only works one way round.

Here we go, it was 19 and 21 that seem to be connected either way round, so that’s 52 and 53 on the diagram above. One is a screen and one is earth.
