What I would really love is a tray that holds a cordless phone charger and sit in the top of the centre cubby hole (the main one with the usb port / ipod socket etc) that would take an iphone 11. Certainly pay for that!

I like that idea! Could you send me a photo of the area you mean?

I'll have a look for the forum policy on commercial activity. Smile

I am thinking of a tray that sits in the top with a charging mat built in, that would be powered form the socket below

https://www.amazon.co.uk/CHOETECH-Wireless...6&th=1

The iphone 11 would fit, it is 155 x 80mm

Slightly off topic, but any recommendations for a 3D printer?

I've had a fair amount of success with my Creality S4 but there are newer models available now and things are moving on so quickly that I really wouldn't know.
If you don't want the hassle of modifying loads of bits be careful about the bed size. Most printers come with heaters that aren't big enough to cover a large bed so they don't reach the temperature you need for good adhesion around the edges, rendering them useless for large prints.

It depends if you like tinkering with stuff!

I bought an Ender 3 Pro just before lockdown as I had wanted to play around with my own printer for years. For a budget printer it does the job, but I've spent probably 40-50% of the original cost on improvements, glass bed and clips, extruder upgrades, stronger bed springs, an auto levelling system, quieter fans and upgraded bowden tube.

Within a couple of weeks I ended up running it, and an Ender 5 donated by a friend, to print face shields for the NHS. It got well used for a few weeks and I think I ironed out any issues, got a few kg of plastic through it! I'm starting to look at a more professional setup now I know that it's something I have lots of uses for!

https://www.nwemail.co.uk/news/18358542.hu...de-visors/

In short, if you don't mind tinkering, the Ender 3 Pro is the one to go for - just beware that there have been some scam listings for new ones, as they were in really short supply a few weeks ago when everyone was buying them to print PPE. You might find some are coming up for sale now as that has just about stopped. If you don't want to tinkier, I'm not entirely sure what's best, lots of people seem to recommend the Prusa models.

Lots of great ideas in here, the cubby trays with chargers are definitely something I'm going to look at!

If not already asked, headlamp wiper cover caps for earlier models? Simply unobtainable.

I recently ordered an Artillery Sidewinder X1 v4 which is due in a couple of weeks. I started looking for a 3d printer a couple of months ago and spent hours researching and watching you tube reviews etc. I was frankly astonished by the number and variety of printers out there, especially in the sub £500 range.

I narrowed it down to the Creality CR10 S, the Prusa i3 MK3s and the Sidewinder X1. I did fancy the Prusa but frankly the cost was more than I wanted to pay at £700 just for a kit of parts (or £900 assembled), twice what I could get the others for.

In the end the reviews of the Sidewinder X1 just swung it for me.

One thing I did keep coming across in reviews and on you tube channels was that any 3d printer requires some element of tinkering to fine tune it when you get it and to keep it going (much like a FFRR then Laughing Laughing ) 2017 4.4 SDV8 Autobiography

I've received that parcel shelf lug from bigbo, and modelled it. Now I'm just waiting for the parts I need to allow my printer to use ABS. Ordered 2 weeks ago...

They'll be solid, rather than the original hollow ones, so should be a bit stronger!

Warninglight,

Can you manufacture parts that would take coolant system pressure? In particular I'm thinking of the 11TDV8 piece marked 3a in the photo.

Seems we break them or they fail

 Cheers
Richard
