A big thank you to the NHS from me...

So, long story short, have just come home after a short stay in Gloucester Royal Hospital... Had a blockage in my small intestine (which i don't recommend anyone tries!!!)

So, i wanted to say a MASSIVE thank you to both the paramedics and the staff in the hospital! They were all so so brilliant and caring and made me feel less stressed about the whole "covid" thing and being in hospital etc etc etc...

I was covid swab tested before they allow you to move to a ward from A&E and the results come back very quickly! This allows you to then be moved to a covid free ward to be cared for...

I now have a few days of "sofa rest" to rest my poor old tummy muscles! Rolling Eyes Neutral Thumbs Up

So glad to hear you are on the mend Craig Thumbs Up I second the praise for the NHS. Had to take my step-daughter to A&E last Saturday following a bicycle prang! Staff were brilliant and diagnosed a slight arm fracture really quickly. My eldest daughter works in the Covid/Trauma ward at Brighton hospital, 13 hour shifts in full PPE with three 20 minute breaks....heroes the lot of them Bow down SDV8 AB MY 2019

Good to hear you are on the mend Craig.

We in this country sometimes forget how lucky we are with our medical teams, saving lives everyday.

Great news that they looked after you and got you up and running again.

Hopefully when this Covid thing is put to bed the Government may look a bit more kindly on the worth of our Nurses in their pay packets.

Glad they got you sorted, they are a special breed of people, I have spent a lot of time in hospital over the last few years getting several parts replaced and without exception the staff are wonderful.....

Take it easy... Thumbs Up Pete

Take it easy Craig and good to hear you’re on the mend.

As the son of a nurse, with other medics in the extended family, I’ve always really valued the front line NHS teams. They deserve all the praise they are getting. Don’t get me started on NHS management though- all the issues with PPE are down to incompetent procurement and nobody is going to get the blame for it. My fervent hope is that once all this is over, there will be a review of NHS management processes and a greater emphasis will be with clinicians rather than bean counters.

Ive said to my wife for years, if the NHS is lacking (for example) 100 million a year and that cost me £5 a week then i would happily pay it!

Boris has missed a trick thus far i think!
