hi all,

have 22" wheels and currently have 285/35R22 with Ventus ST Hankook fitted never been happy with them to be fair but used them for 45k ! to much road noise for my liking.

was chatting another day to a fellow friend and he said he recently fitted the accerlera and liked them but of course they are a cheap tyre? so not sure.

they do have the Accelera Iota ST68 - 285/40 R22 which have a bigger sidewall which I do like the idea off and heard the 40 profile give a good ride with 22"

any advice will be greatly appreciated

They are worse than awful. Had them on the back end of my D3 a while back, and the back end was all over the place

It's very much a personal preference, but tyres are not something I'd skimp on. I'd hate to be driving everywhere like Miss Daisy as it would always be at the back of my mind.

Cheap tyres only have to let you down once to be not so cheap any more.....

That said, plenty of people seem to fit them and have no problems.

I bought a P38 back in the day from a dealer and he had replaced all 4 tyres with new Acceleras. I was totally unaware they were a cheap tyre

But to be honest I found them fine and they were very quiet, although they were only 18inch with a 55 profile.

From memory they had copied the tread pattern from the equivalent Michelin.

On a 22inch and 40 profile that could be totally different.

I bought a Volvo a couple of years back with them on... they should be banned, absolutely useless and dangerous, four brand new went in a skip...

Don't skimp on tyres, it's not worth it... Pete

Old 640d had a set of these tyres on when I bought it, lasted a month before replacing, dreadful.

Much appreciated for all the reply’s I will stick to what I know.

Fedup with my current 22inch wheels..they look nice but just annoying ying me lately.. just not good for any roads with pot holes and county lanes cracked one of my rims twice !

So ended up getting a set of Style 502 255/55/20

they have 6-7mm tyre ll round on pirelli scorpion verde all seasons.. which i hear good things about.

just waiting for the new wheel nuts before i can fit them.

They have very little dry road grip IMHO..

Each to their own, but even when all I could afford were old bangers, I’d still buy decent tyres. I even used to pay extra for decent tyres on my company Golf GTi, where the fleet manager wanted the cheapest possible and I insisted on either Continentals or Pirelli’s.

SL55 Terrible understeer uneven wear, overall dreadful and quickly replaced with Michelin
2 X CLS350 Continentals used to tramline and roadnoise was dreadful , Replaced with Yokohama
2012 CL500 bi-turbo, it `had Continentals but they were replaced with Dunlops due to an offer
Current 2011 4.4tdv8 had 255/55/19 pirelli verde which were noisy quishy expensive.

Pre FFRR I ran a VW T5 - a 2.5/5-pot running at 200BHP & torque to match.

There were quite a number of guys on the same forum as I also running a lot of power.

A few tried Accelera's - they soon got the reputation of "ditchfinders". 2003 Range Rover Vogue TD6
