If it's undriveable & you have relay - then I guess they'll tow you to the nearest garage for them to fit the pipe.

Depends on what sort of cover you have. I am with the AA and have breakdown repair added. Basically if the AA diagnose a fault, they will pay for parts and labour (upto £500) at one of their specified garages. Up to 6 repairs a year !

Thats what I was hoping/asking in a round about way - would the AA guy fancy an hours work for several beer tokens and a bacon sandwich? |

Interesting BigBoy - Hadnt thought of that. Just priced up cover for me and the Mrs, both cars (our 2003 TD6 and the Audi A4), including the repair service, its coming in at £319 (but with £110 cashback through Quidco) Was it a ballache making your claim with them? Considering it as each car does have 3 or 4 days work done on them each year to keep them on the road. Sensors failing, split pipes, etc. Would it cover things like faulty ABS pump, burst air suspension bag etc? Just had a read of the T&C and saw this part: Do I have to keep my vehicle serviced regularly? Yes. All cars require regular maintenance. Once you have nominated a vehicle for AA Parts and Garage Cover then you will need to keep it serviced in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations. You may be asked to produce evidence of servicing when you make a claim so be sure to retain your receipts and invoices. Stamped service books are not acceptable proof. Servicing must be done by a professional garage business and failure to keep your vehicle properly maintained may invalidate your claim. As both cars are 17 years old, I've always serviced them both regularly, so guessing i wont be covered should i make a claim? Both service books have not been stamped for 8 or 9 years (since we've owned them - we knew they'd be long term cars that we'd have until the gave up completely) |

To be fair, the process if i remember rightly wasn't too bad. The wheel bearing collapsed and the AA man came out and assessed it. Diagnosed the wheel bearing and off it went to their nominated garage. It HAS to be their nominated one to get the repair done.

Ahhh was going well til you mentioned the mileage. Both the RR and Audi are on approx 115k, although I did have to enter both registrations for a quote, and it came in at £319 per year for both, for me and the mrs. Im assuming they'd know from the reg the age and mileage of both?

Have a google for a mobile mechanic in your area. There are normally a few out there which will come and do work on your drive, worth a shot at the moment, as they are normally all self employed and may be really quiet. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Cheers Rob, usually renew through Quidco and get about £80 back. I'd struggle haggling I think as almost every year I had one, or both cars recovered a couple of times at least |
