Third Party Warranties

HI All

New FFRR owner here - 2012 4.4 TDV8 AB with 102k miles - looking into warranties as have had good experience with Warranty Direct previously and considering the age and mileage of the RR, thought it best to have one.

Have been shopping around and Click4Warranty seem to be the cheapest though online reviews suggest they are not very reliable at agreeing claims. RAC comes in second cheapest but wondered whether anyone had any claims experience with them?

For info, WarrantyWise comes in 3rd and Warranty Direct 4th but has a large parts contribution requirement.

Are there any providers that the club members might recommend for FFRRs?

Appreciate your help!

Over the 100,000 mile threshold, your options and cover become much more limited, unfortunately.

I started a thread a few weeks ago on here and the Disco 3 & 4 forum, but no one has been able to provide any direct experience of RAC. The RAC certainly seems to cover a great deal more for less money but, without claims experience, it counts for little.

Exactly this, unfortunately. Did you decide who you might go with? I'm happy to wait a few more days before making a decision in the hope of collating some feedback...

My decision can (fortunately) be put off until August/September, when mine will have around 99,000 miles just before it’s third birthday.

Still holding out for anyone with some RAC claims experience though...

I've decided not to take out any warranty and instead keep aside a bit ewach month for anything that comes up. If it doesn't come up - then into savings / investments it goes.

Time will tell if I've made the right choice but approx £1k pa is a lot of money for a 'just in case' when they may not even honour it.

Most insurance policies these days seem to be a bit of a lottery, with warranty companies top of the pile Evil or Very Mad

I could get my FF covered for 3 years for £3.5k, which believe it or not I was seriously thinking of paying. But I asked myself the question whether that £3.5k covered me for any eventuality over those 3 years. Of course, the answer was a big fat No. So I didn’t bother. Only time will tell if I made the right decision.

The big ticket items are the ones I really worry about, but I have more confidence in the 5.0 V8 than the SDV6 in my previous D4 Thumbs Up
