USA 2007 Supercharged won’t start. No crank. Immobilized ?

So Everything was fine Until I had a locksmith come make me another key
He cut a new one and programmed it to the car. Everything worked. About 5 minutes later Both keys stopped working. We removed the battery cables and held them together for about 30 sec and then the keys started working again. Every worked for about 2 day’s
I came out the next morning and no cranking or key working.
I had low voltage so I replaced the battery. No fix
I pulled the starter out and replaced it. The old one didn’t test very well.

I have a Brand new battery and starter.

The car does not see the key in the door handle but does turn.
The car does not see the key when I put it in the ignition.
I believe it should say “VALID KEY IN THE IGNITION “ but to be honest I don’t recall looking at it that closely.

I turn it to position 1 and it tells me “ KEY IN THE IGNITION LOCK”
I Then turn it to position 2 and the steering wheel comes down and accessories turn on. It will let me turn to the start position 1 time but it will not crank over.
When I remove the key she just goes crazy with lights and codes all over the dash like Trans fault, and stuff I’ve never seen
before.
A lock Smith did come by last night and tried to reprogram the key and it comes up like it took the key as good.
I find all sorts of problems with the o3-o5 l322’s with the ignition switch by the shifter lever but Nothing about the 2007 4.2 cars with the key in the dash.
Any help would be appreciated.

On a side note my Icarsoft gives me a code of Lost comm with instrument cluster control module AND Key transponder

07 Models in UK did have a run of bad ignition switches, all describing similar problems. Not a big job if your handy !

I'm sorry the new switch didn't work ! Did you re-sync the key with the new ignition ? try this ! at this stage anything is worth a try.

That’s a different issue but the button sequence is the same. Mine just won’t crank over. My locksmith came back out and took the small computer (immobilizer) with him and did some testing in his office. He said he found 4 keys programmed and was also going to try and do some computer reset on Sunday. I figured he could try before she gets sent off to the dealer.

It’s really strange because if I had a o3-05 (USA) I could get around it. But something changed on the o7 4.2 supercharged suv. Also the key ignition is now on the dash and not down low. I’ve yet to find a single video of a l322 with the key in the dash that has this particular issue. As soon as I this gets corrected I’ll share what was found. Thanks for the help.
For now back to getting my p38 going.

For those of you who care we found the issues.

Well the TPmS control module was rotted because Land Rover is to stupid to seal the vehicle or computer modules and that caused shorts
We also found some ground wires melting in the dash. What caused that is anyone’s guess but after pulling the wires apart and correcting some ground issues everything started working again as it should.

That's good news Brandon ! Water ingress is a problem with some cars, it really is a hit or miss with the car you buy. Enjoy the wonderful engine Thumbs Up

Thank you for the response as I love this thing. Unfortunately She died on the highway a couple days later. Won’t start but she cranks and Cranks and cranks. I put a new fuel pump and kit in but still no luck. She has a lot of fuel pressure. I metered the coils and wire 2 is holding at 4.78 vdc and not pulsing. I wonder if the regulator in the fuel rail is bad. Any ideas

Two thoughts:

1. Has the chain slipped?
2. Have you tried unplugging the MAF?
