If it was so easy why didn't he do it then ??!??? Iv just replaced my ignition switch for intermittent no start.........same fault still present so its the starter solenoid which is next on my list. Mine is the m62 engine I'm not up on the tdv8 but if there was a relay and it was a known issue a Google search would find it I'm sure |

The WM doesnt seem to have electrical schematics. A helpful member here supplied me with a number of schematics a while back from another source. I think JLR do a separate electrical manual. I know they used to do a book for the earlier models pre 2006 but since then I think its all on topix or something similar. People allude to the fact that you can subscribe to topix for a short time and download what you need? Previously a 2008MY Tonga Green Vogue SE 3.6 TDV8 |

I’m having all sorts of strange things with mine as well. Typical RR garbage but nevertheless if your looking for the starter relay I believe it’s under the hood with a lot of screws around it. Probably labeled SM. I know my P38 that’s the one and when I meter my o7 it looks to be the same. Sorry but that’s a guess. |

It's not in the rear fuse box or the one under the bonnet with 10 or so screws. |

If it’s the interlock relay that you mean, it’s underneath the transfer box ECU, behind the battery (least it was for '02-'05 models)

Thanks Phil, got chance to look again yesterday, still can't find it, it's not behind the battery on a 07.

This could be another wild goose chase, but Microcat does appear to show relays on top of the main fuse box. I’m not sure if the (BMW) fuse box in the glovebox changed after 2005, though? Does the Microcat illustration even mean that the relay is in the top of the fuse box, or is it just a convenient section to list its part number?

Have you seen the YouTube video by Hernandez? that may be of some help. Although you have already checked behind the battery, there are 2 large relays there on mine. |
