L322 Diesel 3.6 V8. will not fire up

My 2007year L322 diesel running fine but with no warning signs previously of a fault will not fire up. Engine turns over over but will not run.It seems to be something electrical but not sure but............ Anyone have a clue?

Check for fuel at the engine side of the filter can't mind how it's done but do a search
Lots on here
Check for fault codes

Crank angle sensor ? if not fuel related this would be a good place to start.

Simple/cheap things first, try a gallon of diesel as the guage is prone to telling lies
