275/50/20 Tyres on 20" Stormer Wheels

Afternoon folks,

My 2006 L322 Vogue SE came fitted with RRS 20" Stormer Wheels and 275/40/20 tyres which seem to crash alot and give a hard ride. Has anyone fitted 275/50/20 tyres to these wheels to improve the ride and did they fit ok?

Cheers Iain.

I’m sure I’ve read the RRS guys put 275/45/20 on theirs with positive feedback.

Many years ago - back around 2008, somebody (an Australian ?) fitted 285/50/20’s AT Tyres to his L322, I am sure they fitted ok - a search may yield results.

If the 285’s fitted ok then the 275/50/20 should be ok.

275/45/20 will definitely fit as they are almost the same diameter as the oem 255/50/20’s - and I have fitted several sets to my 322’s in the past. 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17

Ive run 275/55/20 for over half a decade ... imo they are the perfect tire size for the car , Youll need to heat up and push in the rear inner guard a little where it is mouled over the fuel filler hose and the front can very seldom rub on the front of the inner guard but it's no dramas at all

You also get better rim protection from the slightly wider rubber and about 80rpm dropped off your engine speed which is good, particully on the freeway in 6th gear

If your after the best ride make sure to get a p (passenger) rated tire not a light truck rated tire... i run 36psi front and rear and find it to be very good with no wear issues etc

275/50/20 is a great combination. No mods required.
