United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Santorini Black
No Airbag in Driver's Door

Hi All,

New to the forum, which I have found to be immensely informative.

Just bought a 2012 L322 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE with 86k miles as a replacement for my 2010 3.6 TDV8. This is my 5th Range Rover, so am generally capable of sorting out the niggles associated with Range Rovers.

Overall fantastic vehicle as proven during a 2,000 mile trip during the first week of ownership.

The driver's door would not open from the outside yesterday morning. No problem I thought, cable broken - removed driver's door card expecting to see the driver's door airbag - not there. No screw holes through the form door card backing where the airbag should have been fitted - it appears therefore that there never was a drivers door airbag fitted from new.

Has anyone else with a 2012 L322 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE noticed that there is no airbag in their driver's door?

I was under the impression that the side impact airbags are in the side of the front seats?

Thanks for Responses

Thanks for your responses.

I had been expecting to find an airbag module on the inside if the driver's door, as all posts on this forum and others, relating to the drivers door lock mechanism refer to removal of the driver's door airbag module.

Still, we live and learn....

It was only the first gen L322s that had airbags in the doors when they used the BMW style seats when the first face lift was done around 06 was it and the front end changed the seats changed also and that from memory is when the side air bags moved from the door to the seat.
