South Africa 2016 Range Rover SVAutobiography 5.0 SC V8 Baltic Blue
4-year old tyres sold as new

Just had tyres fitted to the Range Rover; however, when the car arrived at home we found that the tyres already manufactured in 2017.

Would you continue using it or get the fitment centre to replace it.

I think that's too old at full price. If they've been stored properly I'd imagine they are fine to use but in the trade I think they would be sold at a discount to new ones.

I think there are some markets (Germany?) where three years is the legal cut off beyond which they can't be sold as new, so tyres are shipped to other markets as they age

I understood it was advisable to replace at 5 years old. That's what I remember anyway. 2011 4.4tdv8 Vogue

Personally would want tyres within usual standard of less than 12-18 mths since manufacture if paying full price
Im sure they are fine if stored correctly but i expect ‘new’ when i buy and pay for new
My caravan tyres are changed every 4 years and still look new but thats because theyve been exposed to standing and uv and its a 2 tonne lump!

IMHO Best you change them....

Never occurred to me ... Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc

I would not believe anything from an organisation that cannot spell "tyre" correctly................ 2003 Range Rover Vogue TD6

Stan, my TIC post seemed to have been lost on you - I'm more than well aware of the way the Yanks muller our language by incorrectly spelling tyre.**

They cannot spell colour correctly either.

Personally, I cannot stand "creeping americanisms" such as sneakers that seem to be infesting our language.

** One of the reasons that Mrs C will not be buying another new Ford - they cannot be bothered to produce an owners manual that does not refer to such vehicle parts as hood, trunk or lugwrench,. not forgetting aforsaid tire. 2003 Range Rover Vogue TD6

Freddy - just one of the reasons, others are ;

After sales service - when delivered the car came with a pathetic single horn & the headlights on dip were poor. The salesman said he would look into a horn upgrade but never came back to us despite a couple of reminders. 10 minutes googling found out via a Kuga forum that the wiring for a second horn is in place, part # & how to install in 10 minutes. As for the headlights "thats how they are madam". All over her like a cheap suit before ordering & then did'nt want to know.
Shut down without warning one night (DPF sensor) leaving us stranded on an unlit road in the sticks - thank you RAC for rescuing us. Service department indifferent as to why no warning appeared.
Wanted a week to replace a headlight bulb (until Mobility leaned on them).

It's a shame as otherwise it's quite a nice motor. But not, as I gather the most reliable.

& the local Fraud dealers wonder why their local nickname is "Inflicted Motors".

One things for certain, next round of test drives will include a nightime headlights test !.

Not exactly promises, more a question that they did not honour their part of the deal.[/i] 2003 Range Rover Vogue TD6
