I'm sure I saw recently on here that an OTA upgrade had caused an issue with the TPMS reading for the spare. I'm being given a smoke and mirrors jobbie at present saying that the valve is naff but it's the third wheel I've tried and they all give the same result (advantage of having swapped the wheels is I have 5 spares). I explained that it only started after an upgrade and prior to this and despite swapping the wheels everything had worked perfectly prior. I was then told I hadn't configured the valves but everything TPMS worked just as it should without "configuring" and displayed near as dammit values for all wheels. I asked if the caller was sure they had to be configured and he said he didn't know.
Is there a known issue or a Q number which applies to this problem as they're saying it's not a warranty issue and I need to buy a new valve?

On my MY17 the valves seem to work without configuring, when I have the wheels changed in autumn and spring (each set has its own valves) the car seems just to read the new ones automatically. The (full size) spare does not get changed and it occasionally demands to have the air topped up. I have had various software updates done by the dealers and to date they have never affected the TPMS. Only Range Rovers since 1988
