Ooops...and full extended mode (13 day old car...)

Aye, you can imagine how nice it felt wafting along in the FullFat, we even stopped to dig someone out in a VW Lupo.

Just as I set off to turn into the drive (It is a sharp turn and I don't like doing it in 2 go's, so usually take a bit of the off-side verge with me) only since it was full of snow I misjudged and.....Oh Sh%t!!

Katharine did say, "Just take it in two", just before I slid into the ditch!

I spun all the wheels for a bit but no avail (but did manage to scrape the alloys by spinning them in the ditch. And do the paint work no good due to the fence and barbed wire.

Put tow rope on and telephoned local farmer to help. When waiting managed to get it in super extended mode (for all those that wanted pictures..)

Before the farmer turned up, three defenders arrived (1x110, 2x90's) and the 110 pulled me out. Thank goodness.

They were impressed by how high the suspension went, but did look pale when I said it was only 13 days old, and that my wife hadn't killed me yet.

You live and learn.

At least no major damage and no human life lost.

Hope the pics don't give you nightmares.

Cheers,

Grant

I find I am always scared driving a new car until something happens...

Usually it is something stupid (I hit the front bumper of the 22 day old RRS on the garage wall - yes the parking sensors were on; and having a head on collision in Katharine's 4 month old Disco3)

After that the car is just a car and should be used as that.......but seeing £70K worth of machinery sitting in the ditch was really saddening, and I was surprised that Katharine was so understanding (ie I still have my testicles!)
Thumbs Up

Emperor :- It has the sand interior, light headlining and jet carpet sets.

Scarey:- I could have kept quite, but, worse things can happen. Last few days in Japan for e.g.

Tim: - Only been to Dunkeld five times (110, RRSport, G4 D3, FFRRx2) but it doesn't prevent you feckin' it up!

I know why I fecked it and not sure anything they have taught/could teach me would have got me out the ditch, once we were in it!

What else can you do on a Sunday these days anyway...

47p2:- I am not sure how much damage is on the side due to fence posts and barbed wire, we placed old curtains over the fence to try and protect the car. It is still so snowy and damp you can't really see how bad (or little) the damage is.

The wing mirror was bouncing on the fence post, but folded it was okay.

I did noticed the wheels did get a bit of a doin', and well muddied up.

Looking at the pictures again, and knowing the car is now safe in our drive, it all seems a bit surreal.

Gutted for you, but at least no lasting damage done

Is full-extended mode selected automatically?
