Santorini Black L405 is having an imminent change to genuine 22" LR turbine alloys.

The currently factory grey turbine set is now with a quality Diamond Cut refurbishing specialist. Have to decide whether to ask for factory grey or black finish inserts (not doing all silver/ not doing anything smoked or "black pack").

Votes welcome and picture of car with current wheels below; and also sample image turbines with grey inserts.

If anyone can find and post an image of a genuine turbine with black inserts that would be appreciated '

Thanks Vogue, I can’t actually find genuine factory black inserts, even on the LR configurator the choices seem to be silver or dark grey only (unless I’ve missed something).

I think it's grey only with the diamond cut finish.

Black maybe for the 2 tone ones that have dark areas instead of diamond cut ? But not heard of anyone who is able to recreate that as a refurb......

Was sure black inserts was an option on genuine LR wheels. Glad I asked

Black inserts was 100% never a factory option... Maybe an SVA cost option?

But IS 100% a fake Chinese colour option Ryan...

Thanks Craig, I had seen copies with black inserts.

So... if I get them refurb'd with black inserts, those in the know will think my genuine turbines are copies anyway

I think the various threads on here have proven that there are very few people 'in the know'

Mine are the Grey as above, they look the business , you could always do either side different colours then decide after a wee while

Really like the thought of factory diamond cut finish against black inserts on the black car (the refurbisher is really good/ lots of expensive cars and main dealer vehicles at their premises so no doubt they will make the wheels look great)... but if LR only really sell these wheels with grey inserts to be put on whatever colour the car is, I'm guessing grey will also look good on the black car anyway.

Bought the wheels (they are diamond finish with grey inserts) from different places. 3 from one seller and then made up the set via another seller, had them up within a day and taken straight to the refurbisher so never tried them on the car to see if I liked the grey

Personally I’d prefer them all gloss black, but polished with black inserts will look nice. In my opinion if the car was any other colour then black or white then grey would be really nice.

Ultimately entirely your choice.
