I bought my 2.5DT in 1999/2000 when I took early retirement and made regular visits down to the Algarve via Calpe in Spain where my long time work colleague bought a villa when he retired at the same time. It is still the only brand new car I have ever owned, but had c120k miles on the clock when I swapped it for a Td6 vogue L322. It never let me down once despite the reputation P38’s got for unreliability.

Thank you! My parents had both a 2.5 DSE P38 and then a 4.4 V8 L322 and to be honest the P38 was more reliable for us, but both were great cars to be in regardless, hence my purchase really. My mother got me into Land Rovers at a young age and now I'm back in the position to own one it just made sense.

You’ll love the cruise down in the P38. Did Southern Spain twice in our 2 P38’s and they never missed a beat.

Very nice indeed! Only thing I can advise from what a couple of mates have told me when doing theirs's is take your time massively when fitting the new rear seal, if they are not fitted perfectly the leaks come back. I have to do mine too and have not got round to it yet! 2011 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 TDV8

Thank you. I am not in a rush to do it as it seems to have calmed down a bit, but I have ordered the part just in case.

After a year of ownership, I decided this just wasn't getting the love it deserved as it sat in my garage for the majority of the year and as a result I have now sold it and bought myself an L322.
