Folks anyone having an issue with remote park heat on the L405 ? Far to many gone...

Yes, also experiencing problems but not in terms of failure to activate on command. Mine just comes on itself whilst driving and when stationary emits smoke and fumes from below vehicle. This has become progressively worse and looks potentially highly dangerous. Dealer has vehicle and is trying to find cause of problem. Vehicle is only 11 weeks old. FFRR user since 1974. RR No. 10 (2021MY P525 AB delivered Nov 2020) Gone. No 11. P550e AB MY2024 delivered June 2024

Remember the heater is really there to get the engine up to temperature, not to heat the interior - it works independently of the park heat function. The exhaust is a lot more obvious when it's cold.

Thanks Trommel, I understand a lot more now, having researched this site and the Webasto site. Would have been helpful if dealer had displayed more understanding of issue, instead of fixating on owner operation / remote control red herrings. My problem has always been fumes from FBH getting into the cabin, to the extent that passengers feel alarmed and comment. After three days in dealership problem has now escalated to a full smoking issue. Looked like a blinking steam train as I drove it back to the dealer! This amount of smoke from an FBH cannot be normal on an 11 week old car. FFRR user since 1974. RR No. 10 (2021MY P525 AB delivered Nov 2020) Gone. No 11. P550e AB MY2024 delivered June 2024

Car back on road after dealer fitted a "replacement corrugated pipe that channels exhaust from FBH. Original had a hole in it at a joint". "Same issue had occurred on another customer's car".
Sadly, although the smoking issue has been resolved by the pipe replacement, the fumes issue persists with the "Paraffin like" smell being evident in the interior of the vehicle on random journeys at low temperatures (5-7 deg C), within minutes of journeys at low speeds. FFRR user since 1974. There is a service action on fumes in car,mine was done last year Far to many gone...

Is there also a bulletin for the diesel version? I have this exact same problem but the garage are saying they can't diagnose anything as there are no fault codes stored and this bulletin only applies to petrol so isn't relevant to my car.

The exhaust smell is really strong when the engine is idling and has made me feel sick on a couple of occasions....quite worried as I drive my young children around in the car
