EAS fault - pressure drops when filling

I'm getting an occasional fault that triggers the dreaded dash error message and bong.
This happens a couple of times in quick succession, then might go a week with nothing after clearing the single fault code of ' pressure drops when filling'.
The car doesn't seem to lose any pressure or lower when parked, happens a couple of times then nothing for a week.
Compressor had a new piston ring fitted after this started happening. Car rises and lowers normally when not in fault mode.
Any ideas ?
Cheers

2002 4.4 FF

could be height sensors gone a bit wonky, can you get the car to anyone that has a GAP IID tool, and plug it in, that is really the only way to be sure

Duckworths has a special for forum members, around £400 quid if you think it might be a good investment to buy one, our early 2002 to 2005 motors are gonna have plenty of problems looming up down the road IMHO, and it is good to have a handle on it before you go and see the mechanic and you are able to tell him what the IID tool is coming up with

easily serviced using Andy's repair/service kit £25 quid

http://www.bagpipingandy.com/

easy enough to do ( but sadly in this throw away and replace society we now live in, people will pay £500 quid for a new one

Done the compressor piston seal, made no difference.
When not in fault mode ( have an icarsoft tool ) the compressor seems fine and will raise the car up ok

@BMG
You can get bare compressors on eBay from £120 - £200
https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R4...p;_sacat=0

If it is the original compressor on your gen 1 L322 then it has done well to get you to here!

@pcourtney
Yes, one could:

Check function and operation of all airbags, height sensors
Check all pipe work for connections and leaks
Remove reservoir check for leaks, replace pressure relief valve, dismantle valve block (repair) and test
Dismantle front and rear valve blocks (repair) and test
Change piston ring in compressor, dry out the dessicant, ensure exhaust flow is clear, check function and operation
Have ECU tested, check wiring continuity
Check switch pack for function and operation

Then: get a new compressor!

yep, Duckworths sold them to us for £27 quid less than Island 4x4 did last year, but now Island 4x4 are cheaper

I was just pointing out your £500 was a little wide of the mark Whistle
