L322 Sudden Engine Cutout ?! | |
Ahh every new day brings new fun and interest from Gloria...
So I did the battery "disconnect for 10 mins, touch the +ve and -ve cables then reconnect" routine (to see if this would somehow make the s*****g drivers switch cluster work, it didn't ho hum etc)
I then did routine fault scan and clear using GAP IIDToolBT and all reporting good except for one long standing fault namely:
=======================================
Model L322 - Range Rover 2002
Vehicle scanned on 26 Jan 2020 11:46:28
IIDControl 2.9.9.7 Build 71 Android - IIDTool BT V4.0 B2691
IP-Instrument Pack
0xBD EBV function fault received from ABS ECU
=======================================
So took the vehicle for a 3-4 miles round the block pootle and all seemed good until approaching a 90 degree left hand corner at (fortunately!) less than 20MPH, the steering went ultra heavy and yes that was because the engine had cut out
Luckily no one behind me and coasted onto verge.
Turned ignition key, engine restarted immediately, drove home, checked faults again and nothing new...?
Is this a hidden L322 feature to liven up its owner's day perhaps?
Any thoughts as to why this might have happened as if it had occurred at speed I dread to think.... "Gloria" 2002 L322 Voguish V8 LPG - carcass
