So just got home and the wife informs me that our newly replaced steering column (see my other thread) "doesn't rise up like before"? Now I have the steering wheel set to it's highest level and seat to the highest aswell and to me it's the same. If at all possible could somebody take a pic of there ffrr steering column set to it highest position so I have something to go on. I looking for the actual gap where the leather cover wrinkles up as the wheel moves. The wife convinced that there was no gap before!!!

I'll try to get a pic of ours and post.

That does look low. It looks like they haven't adjusted it correctly.

Can't you take it back and ask them to sort it FOC of course!

Failing that you can often edge it up by tapping the lever. Mine used to do this, I had to wedge my knees under the wheel and lower it but stop it lowering with my knees so it stalls if that makes sense. It would then go up another inch! I had to do this a few times. (try this at your own risk, I wouldn't want to be responsible for damage)

Then Make Sure you store the memory position or it will drop down as soon as you start the car next.

Have you adjusted the forwards / aft position, to see if that gets it back to how it was before?

Hmm strange then. Just sat at the garage now as there having a look. Apparently there is a adjustment.

Problem/confusion solved.

There new column that was fitted just over a week ago was the most up to date part. LR have changed the column afew times since it first came out to try and solve the nylon bush problem and jamming issues. to do this they made the brass spinning rod (which controls the up/down movement) 8mm longer to prevent any jamming. In doing this the rise height has about an inch less up range. So with the original 05 column I had more movement but was more prone to fail. The latest edition hopefully shouldn't do this.

So the wife was right......kind of!

Duh - the wife is always right did she not tell you that.......

So just got in the car since Saturday and the drivers seat and wheel adjuster has no power what so ever so cant change memory setting or tinker with the seat and wheel position. I'm assuming that this area has no power as the red memory light does not even come on. Any ideas????? Fuse maybe???

Any connections under the seat loose ====================================

Yeah just looking at rave now. Seems to be in the passenger fuse box. I'll go and have a look...................................?

The fuse for the drivers side switch pack had gone so just swapped it for the passenger for now so all good. The steering wheel relay fuse is fine also but still no movement from it???? I hope it aint another trip to the garage that change my column. Dont know what else it could be?
