Rear offside window working intermittently. New regulator?

My rear offside window works sometimes and then other times does not react to any of the window switches (or key remote). It seems to get better in summer which makes me think that it could be something to do with the motor/regulator in the door freeing up with warmer temperatures and jamming up and tripping the anti trap sensor in winter.

I have checked the window for any debris or blockages and it looks clear.

Before I strip the door down, has anyone got any other ideas on what could be an issue, and is replacing the regulator/motor assembly a straight forward task? Tom

Guess nobody has had a similar issue.

Hope replacing the motor/regulator is not too complicated in practise. Tom

How did you get on with this issue?

I've got a drivers window that opened but wont close via either switch on door or key fob and wondering if the regulator was the cause you found?

Try unplugging the switch in the rear door I have just had problems with the switch not working and the front switch didn’t work as well but when I unplugged the rear one that was faulty the front worked again

Interesting thanks, I'll check out my other doors via their respective switches (don't know if the rear ones work by that method as rarely use them)

Does the GAP IIDTool give any useful troubleshooting info I wonder?

What you describe is exactly the issue I had with a 2002 Zafira many years ago and they were German motors too Smile
