Hello all (my first post so apologies in advance if I'm breaking any forum etiquette!)

so I've taken the plunge and bought an L322 "Project"...

Known fault is NSF suspension has a leak when jacked up to off road height.

The LCD display on the dash (no back light?) saying Air Suspension Inactive, then Self Leveling Suspension Inactive then 35MPH Max then cycles through the same set of three messages.

The vehicle is down, presumably to the bump stops, equally on both front corners (rears look fine) - driving is interesting, kinda bouncy like a Mexican Low Rider

Anyhow I'm thinking this badboy to replace the leaking NSF corner https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-RNB000750P1 and wondering whether the OSF also needs replacing at the same time with https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-RNB000740P1 ie do these need doing in pairs even if only NSF corner identified as leaking air?

Another related question: does the fact I'm getting two Air Suspension messages indicate something else may be amiss eg ride height sensors maybe?

I would replace both front struts and bags at the same time, then you know what you have got - if one has gone south, the other won't be far behind.

Then you can see if that fixes the other fault, or if there is more to do.

Order of things:

Bags
Sensors
Pipework/Wiring
Compressor
Reservoir
Valves
ECU (unlikely)

although not necessarily in that order ! .

Newbie question alert...

So am I right in thinking that the items I listed in the original post are combined air bags and dampers ie that each strut is a complete assembly that both provides suspension and damping (ie as a coil spring plus damper would in a conventional suspension set up)?

Or is there more kit to buy ie an air bag AND a damper as two separate items?

Yes the fully assembled strut as in your link has the damper(shock) and the airbag(what would be a spring)

Also, once the shiny new parts are fitted, does the vehicle automagically sort itself out or do I need to clear the error messages manually? And if so is this where some mysterious piece of kit called an IID Tool comes into play perhaps?

Most likely you will have "hard" faults so a suitable diagnostic tool will be needed to clear them.

Any work with a battery disconnect (you were going to disconnect weren't you) will require you to turn the steering wheel from lock to lock to clear the three amigos on the dash. A short drive may help to resolve any soft faults/dash lights at start up.

IIDTool was my weapon of choice, but there are others out there that can handle the FFRR's idiosyncrasies for less cash

Check forum/eBay for ones for sale. If you are happy to connect by wires to a laptop get a non BT IIDTool to save money. .
