Nathan, I've just swapped my aux coolant pump on the FBH but I've got an air lock and it won't prime itself. I can here the pump running just it just gurgles and splashes.

Any ideas on bleeding it?

You could try back filling the fbh through the top hose inlet.
I did the normal bleeding.. cap off, bleed screw engine running heaters on full.. then run the fbh.
You might have to bleed again after this..

I'll try again tomorrow. I didn't put the heater on full last time. If that doesnt work I'll start pulling hoses and messing about.

Cheers

Hi all

So I've changed my FBh aux pump. The one I got didn't have the wiring loom so I made my own one up. I presumed black wire will be negative but I may have got the polarity wrong. I Robles the coolant today following the procedure in RAVE.

I can now get the FBH to fire up from the remote. The heater starts fine, hot air from the exhaust, fan on in the cabin. Problem is that shortly after the nice turbine noise gets going, there's a sort of funny squelching noise and the FBH powers down.

My thinking is the coolant flow isn't working and the FBH soon overheats and shuts down.

Incidentally, when I start the engine (cold start) the FBH starts and runs fine.

Any ideas? Suggestions? Diagnostic ideas?

Thank you!

That’s the same problem I had that sound is the coolant boiling in the fbh..
I would swap the polarity and try it can you power the pump up with out the fbh just to test it I assumed the same as you but when I tried it the pump did not run.
Swapping it sorted it and it’s been working fine.

I've not had chance to try it yet but I'll swap the polarity round, hopefully it'll sort it.

Do you think I found get the battery out and reach down to the wiring from the top? Might be quicker than going in through the wheel arch again.

Swapped the wiring round. All sorted! I now have fully functioning park heating from the programme function or the remote.

Thanks for the help. Happy now!

So for reference, the black wire is positive to the FBH coolant pump, negative is mustard yellow.
